Some of the top executives of Skype Technologies were terminated in a move that will lessen the expenditure for those executives after Microsoft completes its buyout of the company.

According to an email from Skype’s spokesperson, the company, like any other practical association, continually evaluates its group organization to bring its users the most excellent products. as part of a current internal change, Skype has made some changes in its management.

Bloomberg, mentioning anonymous sources, said that Vice President Don Albert, Russ Shaw, David Gurle and Christopher Dean, Anne Gillespie, who manage the human resources of the company and Doug Bewsher, the Chief Marketing Officer of Skype, were terminated from the firm.

Bloomberg also reported that the timing of terminating of those executives will mean that the stock options will be worth less than if they stayed until the final deal between Microsoft and Skype for $8.5 billion. Later on Monday, Business Insider reported that the terminations did take place, but they were not made with the purpose of declining the amount of money compensated to those let go, as where guessed.

Furthermore, Henry Blodgett, the editor and Chief Executive Officer of Business Insider, said that executives at private firms such as Skype count on impartiality as a main part of their payment. It will set an awful standard if companies such as Skype investor Silver Lake terminated executives before the acquisitions closed to save themselves a few more money by avoiding some added stock strength.

Blodgett also said in his report that the investor of the company told him that Tony Bates, the Chief Executive Officer of Skype, had finally finished a careful review of the executive team of the company and that he had made the changes to show the team he wanted.
